If you get a credit card to establish credit like at 18 years old
and you pay your credit card bill on time for a whole year, then what will you
credit score be after that year if you started with zero credit?

Many factors go into a credit score other than paying your bills on time. Other factors include credit limit, number of debts outstanding and time. Predicting a credit score is very difficult, but any goo history is better than no history. You will receive better loan rates than your peers.

After that year is up you can use freecreditreport.com or get your free yearly credit report from the government to check your score. However, this will just be the VERY beginning of establishing your credit. You still probably won’t be able to buy your own car without someone to co-sign, but even with a co-signer you’ll have a great opportunity to improve your credit even more.

Keeping a steady job and paying all of your bills on time for three years should guarantee great credit. The more lines of credit (credit card, car loan, etc.) that you pay on time, the better.

Oh yeah, it’s also extremely important to keep your credit card balances under half of the credit line. For instance, if you have a $500 limit, don’t go over $200 to be safe. It’ll mess up your credit.

Ideally you should get 2 - 3 cards and keep there balance under 30% of your limit. If you did that for one year and had nothing else on your credit you should be close or above 700 from my experience.
