Ketty asked:
My credit card bill for Discover is due tomorrow and I have no way to deposit the amount into my checking account because there’s no bank near me. Is there any way around this? I really don’t want to ruin my credit history. I have blank checks if that helps at all.

First, you should not have waited until the night before your bill was due to think of this. However, call Discover immediately tomorrow and explain the situation to them. They may be willing to give you a one-month “hardship” and allow you to skip a payment until next month. If not, you may have to bite the bullet and accept the 30-day late that will show up on your credit report and the late fee that will appear on your credit card statement.
Or, and I don’t recommend this, you could make an electronic payment tomorrow through your credit card website. Of course, that would overdraw your checking account and you would receive an overdraft fee from your bank. Assuming you paid that off ASAP, that could work as well.

You might try going to an American Express payment center and pay the cash directly. There is a fee for this. Or get a Green Dot or Walmart pay as you go card. Load it at any 24 hr Walgreens or Walmart (there are other locations too). Load the money on the card. You can then buy a paypack to pay Discover.
There is also a service called moneygram.

An often overlooked and sometimes frowned on method is to ask a friend or family member to call and make the payment over the phone for you and pay them in turn (paying them beforehand is always the classy thing to do).
My mother asks me all the time to do this for her since she doesn’t have a check card or credit card and it has never been a problem for me to do it.
